I went to Sarasota Square Mall at around 3 pm to take pictures for the magazine. This is one of the many malls that have lost a lot of revenue  due to one of the anchor stores, Sears, closing. The other big stores are also not doing very well which makes the smaller stores struggle as well. There were very few people at the mall which made it very easy to take the pictures and proves exactly what I am trying to portray in my article.

Interviews & Questions

Today my partner and I plan to go to the Sarasota Square Mall in south Sarasota to research and interview people for my magazine. I plan to interview a couple store owners of the mall and customers visiting, preferably people who have seen the change of atmosphere and visits. I may interview a security guard as well who has been there for a while. Some questions I plan on asking store owners or workers are: How long have you worked here? Has there been a noticeable decline in sales at this store? How has this affected you and the overall store? Why do you think this has occurred and do you think there is a way to gain more customers for the store and the mall as a whole? For customers, I would ask questions like: How often do you visit the mall? Has this number declined in the past few years? How often do you online shop? Table of Contents Template

The articles that will be listed as the featured articles are the most important and eye-catching stories. They will also be located on the pages toward the middle of the magazine because this is where the big articles are found conventionally. The fonts are the same as the cover to keep the futuristic mood and the two pictures will be used to further the topic of the magazine. Usually, magazines have between 2 to 3 pictures in their table of contents, so my partner and I mimicked this.

Considering my partner and I's magazine was going to be about technology, we started to think of words to do with technology. We discussed the topic as a whole and thought how it was going to be a big part of our future. This is where we got the title from. Choosing the font was also found this way. We wrote our title and most featured article and changed them to futuristic designs. From there we chose our favorite and the most suitable for the magazine.

Flat Plan

Since my partner and I's magazine is about technology, I made my issue based around the current explosion of online shopping. One large article in this magazine is "Say Goodbye to Movie Theaters", on page 66 and 67, which is about the recent increase in streaming companies like Hulu and Netflix and the many abandoned movie theaters that are forced to lower prices and add deals to stay in the game. Another article is "The Internet Revolution", on page 72, where it talks about how selling products came about and what it has now become. A third article included is "UberEats" which discusses not only are products being shipped to your doorstep but so is food.
